The project born with the aim to develop a new application made with Google's framework Flutter and that can be useful to all the cinema lovers around the world.
imWatching is powered by The TMDb ("The Movie Db"). TMDb APIs are owned by TMDb, Inc. You can read more about their terms of use at TMDb Terms of use page, click here.
This application is entirely free, thus imWatching is not responsible for any loss of data regarding your preferences, reviews, follows or any other kind of data connected with your usage of the app.
Your privacy is really important. For this reason, this app is compliant with the new European GDPR. Here below you will find all the information about which data are used and how you can ask to delete your account.
This app requires to register an account, it's totally free. The account is necessary to bind all your choices inside the app, i.e. about movies, and make them available on other devices where you use the same “imWatching” account. At the moment you can create a new profile using your Google Account. These are the data retrieved and stored: email address, full name, provider (Google), gender, birthday, photo URL of your Google Account. The picture is not stored in our database, only the URL is stored. From the app’s settings, you can choose if to show your photo or hide it. If your photo is hidden, the first 2 letters of the display name of your choice will be displayed instead. So for example, if your display name is “Thor”, your avatar will be simply replaced with “TH”.
The display name is not unique, you can change it whenever you want. It will be always followed by a trailing #123xxx six alphanumeric code that represents your unique account.
At any time, you can ask to delete your account selecting the option on the app or sending an email to help@imwatching.app. When the process is started, data about your preferences (movies, tv show, watchlist...) will be immediately deleted and it will not be reversible. Your "imWatching" account (with your email, full name... ) will be also deleted but it could take up to 60 days before they are permanently deleted from Google's server.
Steps to follow to delete account:When you use the app all your choices will be stored and maintained into the database. Data are strictly connected with your "imWatching" account, some of these data are: movies liked, marked as watched or added into your watchlist, tv shows added to your collection, episodes marked as watched, people you follow (friends), suggestions received in your inbox (sent by people who follow you).
Your account and data about your activities inside “imWatching” are stored on Google's Firebase server. Data are not shared with third parties in any way. The aim of this app is to give users a way to share their preferences and taste in movies, your privacy is important.

The GDPR imposes obligations on data controllers and data processors. Firebase customers typically act as the "data controller" for any personal data about their end-users they provide to Google in connection with their use of Firebase, and Google is, generally, a "data processor".
In this case, “imWatching” is considered the data controller in the person of the developer Marco Nicotra - mk@mapkcode.com, while Google is the data processor.
As data controllers, we are responsible for obligations like fulfilling an individual's rights with respect to their personal data. For this reason, you can ask your account deletion at any time as explained down below.
Google is generally a data processor and processes personal data on its behalf. Firebase terms include Data Processing and Security Terms for all Firebase services, effective May 25, 2018.
The data about movies, tv shows, and actors/actress are fetched from the web service "The Movie DB". - https://www.themoviedb.org/ "imWatching" only gets data from TMDB while DOES NOT share your data with TMDB.
Your account on "imWatching" it's NOT an account on TMDB. If you want to use TMDB website you have to create a new separated account maintained on their server and that is not connected or endorsed with "imWatching".
Transparency is important as well as your privacy. When using “imWatching” some data will be stored on your device to improve the app’s performance and your experience with our app.
To improve performance, and avoid the excessive use of your data network, data about movies, tv shows, and images are temporarily stored on your device storage.

"imWatching" is free to use, we make revenues from in-app advertising. You can choose between relevant or non-relevant advertising. In any case, you will see advertising inside the app but if you opt-in for relevant ads you will be prompted with ads of your interest. Relevant ads are shown on the base of some data like your gender, country, ads that you interacted before and other information connected with your account.
